muscimol and Deficiency, Protein

muscimol has been researched along with Deficiency, Protein in 1 studies

Muscimol: A neurotoxic isoxazole isolated from species of AMANITA. It is obtained by decarboxylation of IBOTENIC ACID. Muscimol is a potent agonist of GABA-A RECEPTORS and is used mainly as an experimental tool in animal and tissue studies.
muscimol : A member of the class of isoxazoles that is 1,2-oxazol-3(2H)-one substituted by an aminomethyl group at position 5. It has been isolated from mushrooms of the genus Amanita.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"The sensitivity of prenatal protein malnourished rats to the amnestic properties of the direct GABAA receptor agonist muscimol and the selective benzodiazepine (BZ) receptor agonist, CL218,872, was studied in the male offspring of rats provided with a protein deficient diet (6% casein) for 5 weeks prior to mating and throughout pregnancy."3.72Spatial learning deficits induced by muscimol and CL218,872: lack of effect of prenatal malnutrition.
