muscimol and Bladder, Overactive

muscimol has been researched along with Bladder, Overactive in 2 studies

Muscimol: A neurotoxic isoxazole isolated from species of AMANITA. It is obtained by decarboxylation of IBOTENIC ACID. Muscimol is a potent agonist of GABA-A RECEPTORS and is used mainly as an experimental tool in animal and tissue studies.
muscimol : A member of the class of isoxazoles that is 1,2-oxazol-3(2H)-one substituted by an aminomethyl group at position 5. It has been isolated from mushrooms of the genus Amanita.

"At 4 weeks after Th9-10 spinal cord transection awake cystometry and recordings of external urethral sphincter electromyogram were performed to examine the effect of intrathecal application of the gamma-aminobutyric acid A and B agonists muscimol and baclofen or the gamma-aminobutyric acid A and B antagonists bicuculline and saclofen (Tocris Cookson, Ellisville, Missouri), respectively, at the level of the L6-S1 spinal cord."1.35GABA receptor activation in the lumbosacral spinal cord decreases detrusor overactivity in spinal cord injured rats.
