metoclopramide and Goiter

metoclopramide has been researched along with Goiter in 3 studies

Metoclopramide: A dopamine D2 antagonist that is used as an antiemetic.
metoclopramide : A member of the class of benzamides resulting from the formal condensation of 4-amino-5-chloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid with the primary amino group of N,N-diethylethane-1,2-diamine.

Goiter: Enlargement of the THYROID GLAND that may increase from about 20 grams to hundreds of grams in human adults. Goiter is observed in individuals with normal thyroid function (euthyroidism), thyroid deficiency (HYPOTHYROIDISM), or hormone overproduction (HYPERTHYROIDISM). Goiter may be congenital or acquired, sporadic or endemic (GOITER, ENDEMIC).

"To define the role of somatostatin and dopamine in TSH suppression induced by L-thyroxine, 16 children (12 F, 4 M) on suppressive doses of L-thyroxine (3-4 microg/kg/day) for endemic goiter were studied."7.70Pyridostigmine and metoclopramide do not restore the TSH response to TRH inhibited by L-thyroxine treatment in children with goiter.
