meclofenamic acid and Pain, Postoperative

meclofenamic acid has been researched along with Pain, Postoperative in 10 studies

Meclofenamic Acid: A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent with antipyretic and antigranulation activities. It also inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis.
meclofenamic acid : An aminobenzoic acid that is anthranilic acid in which one of the hydrogens attached to the nitrogen is replaced by a 2,6-dichloro-3-methylphenyl group. A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, it is used as the sodium salt for the treatment of dysmenorrhoea (painful periods), osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Pain, Postoperative: Pain during the period after surgery.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" A positive dose-response was seen for both active drugs with meclofenamate 100 mg and ibuprofen 400 mg exhibiting the greatest efficacy for pain relief, pain reduction, time to remedication, and overall evaluation."2.67Single dose and multidose analgesic study of ibuprofen and meclofenamate sodium after third molar surgery. ( Bergman, S; Betts, N; Cooper, S; Gaston, G; Henry, E; Hersh, EV; Lamp, C; MacAfee, K; Quinn, P; Wedell, D, 1993)
"Meclofenamic acid was superior to placebo from 6 h after treatment and it almost suppressed subjective pain at the end of the observation period (28th h)."2.67Use of meclofenamic acid in gynecology and obstetrics: effects on postsurgical stress.
