isoproterenol and Erythrocytosis

isoproterenol has been researched along with Erythrocytosis in 6 studies

Isoproterenol: Isopropyl analog of EPINEPHRINE; beta-sympathomimetic that acts on the heart, bronchi, skeletal muscle, alimentary tract, etc. It is used mainly as bronchodilator and heart stimulant.
isoprenaline : A secondary amino compound that is noradrenaline in which one of the hydrogens attached to the nitrogen is replaced by an isopropyl group. A sympathomimetic acting almost exclusively on beta-adrenergic receptors, it is used (mainly as the hydrochloride salt) as a bronghodilator and heart stimulant for the management of a variety of cardiac disorders.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"The erythropoietic response, measured as RBC-59Fe uptake, in response to either 24-h exposure to hypoxia or administration of dexamethasone, isoproterenol, testosterone, or erythropoietin, was determined in both posthypoxic (PH) and hypertransfused (HT) polycythemic mice."3.67Comparison of erythropoietic response to erythropoietin-secreting stimuli in mice following polycythemia induced by transfusion or hypoxia. ( Alippi, RM; Barceló, AC; Bozzini, CE, 1985)
"We used a mouse model of Chuvash polycythemia (CP), a rare genetic disorder that modestly increases expression of HIF target genes in normoxia, to understand what these effects might be within the heart."1.43The von Hippel-Lindau Chuvash mutation in mice alters cardiac substrate and high-energy phosphate metabolism. ( Carr, C; Clarke, K; Cole, M; Curtis, MK; Dodd, M; Giles, L; Heather, LC; Robbins, PA; Slingo, M; Tyler, D, 2016)
"The isoproterenol effect was blocked by an agent with beta 2 receptor specificity (butoxamine), and L-isomeric configuration (L-propranolol)."1.27Adrenergic modulation of erythropoiesis: in vitro studies of colony-forming cells in normal and polycythaemic man. ( Adamson, JW; Mladenovic, J, 1984)
