isoproterenol and Allergy, Drug

isoproterenol has been researched along with Allergy, Drug in 37 studies

Isoproterenol: Isopropyl analog of EPINEPHRINE; beta-sympathomimetic that acts on the heart, bronchi, skeletal muscle, alimentary tract, etc. It is used mainly as bronchodilator and heart stimulant.
isoprenaline : A secondary amino compound that is noradrenaline in which one of the hydrogens attached to the nitrogen is replaced by an isopropyl group. A sympathomimetic acting almost exclusively on beta-adrenergic receptors, it is used (mainly as the hydrochloride salt) as a bronghodilator and heart stimulant for the management of a variety of cardiac disorders.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"Blood pressure (BP), plasma levels of norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine, the chronotropic effect of isoproterenol, and the relationship between variations in BP and concomitant plasma NE levels obtained during NE infusion were studied under control conditions and after 10 days of dietary potassium supplementation (100 mmol/day) in 12 normotensive subjects with negative family history (FH) of hypertension (mean BP 111/70 +/- 9/7 mmHg), 11 normotensive subjects with positive FH (112/73 +/- 8/6 mmHg), and 10 subjects with untreated borderline to mild essential hypertension (131/89 +/- 15/9 mmHg)."3.67Correction of cardiovascular hypersensitivity to norepinephrine by potassium supplementation in normotensive members of hypertensive families and patients with essential hypertension. ( Beretta-Piccoli, C; Bianchetti, MG; Ferrier, C; Gerber, A; Link, L; Weidmann, P, 1984)
"The effects of prostaglandin E1, E2, F2alpha (PGE2 PGF2alpha), isoproterenol, epinephrine, norepinephrine, salbutamol, practolol, atropine, aminophylline, and corticosterone on the hypersensitivity to anaphylaxis, histamine, and serotonin in Bordetella pertussis-treated mice and propranolol-treated mice were investigated."3.65Histamine hypersensitivity in mice induced by Bordetella pertussis or pharmacologic beta adrenergic blockade. Effects of adrenergic, cholinergic, and other drugs. ( Matsumura, Y; Tan, EM; Vaughan, JH, 1976)
" Adverse effects resolved within 1 minute of dose reduction."1.31Safety and tolerability of an aggressive tilt table test protocol in the evaluation of patients with suspected neurocardiogenic syncope. ( Brodsky, C; Vlay, LC; Vlay, SC, 2000)
