iopromide and Diabetes Mellitus

iopromide has been researched along with Diabetes Mellitus in 3 studies

iopromide: structure given in first source
iopromide : A dicarboxylic acid diamide that consists of N-methylisophthalamide bearing three iodo substituents at positions 2, 4 and 6, a methoxyacetyl substituent at position 5 and two 2,3-dihydroxypropyl groups attached to the amide nitrogens. A water soluble x-ray contrast agent for intravascular administration.

Diabetes Mellitus: A heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by HYPERGLYCEMIA and GLUCOSE INTOLERANCE.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" In 562 evaluable patients (of 592 recruited), the contrast volume, presence of diabetes mellitus, mean baseline SCr and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were comparable between the iopromide- and iodixanol-treated groups."5.16Renal tolerability of iopromide and iodixanol in 562 renally impaired patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation: the DIRECT study. "In conclusion, diabetics have more atherosclerotic plaque burden and more severe coronary atherosclerosis than nondiabetics."1.37Comparison of atherosclerotic plaque by computed tomography angiography in patients with and without diabetes mellitus and with known or suspected coronary artery disease.
