iohexol and Insulin Sensitivity

iohexol has been researched along with Insulin Sensitivity in 3 studies

Iohexol: An effective non-ionic, water-soluble contrast agent which is used in myelography, arthrography, nephroangiography, arteriography, and other radiographic procedures. Its low systemic toxicity is the combined result of low chemotoxicity and low osmolality.
iohexol : A benzenedicarboxamide compound having N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)carbamoyl groups at the 1- and 3-positions, iodo substituents at the 2-, 4- and 6-positions and an N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)acetamido group at the 5-position.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" Linear regression modeling was used to evaluate the association of serum leptin level with glomerular filtration rate calculated using the plasma iohexol disappearance curve, demographics, body mass index (BMI), and cardiovascular risk factors, including inflammatory cytokines, insulin resistance, and serum lipid levels."3.80Correlates of leptin in children with chronic kidney disease. ( Furth, S; Mitsnefes, M; Nehus, E; Warady, B, 2014)
"Insulin resistance is defined as impairment of insulin-stimulated glucose and/or lipid metabolism, while endothelial dysfunction is defined as paradoxical or inadequate endothelial-mediated vasodilation."1.35The correlation of thrombolysis in myocardial infarction frame count with insulin resistance in patients with slow coronary flow. ( Akbay, E; Akcay, B; Camsari, A; Cicek, D; Gen, R; Genctoy, G; Gok, E; Horoz, M; Kiykim, A; Muslu, N; Ozcan, T, 2008)
"Insulin resistance was estimated by quantitative insulin-sensitivity check index (QUICKI) and homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and body composition by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry."1.33Elevated resistin levels in chronic kidney disease are associated with decreased glomerular filtration rate and inflammation, but not with insulin resistance.
