iohexol and Choledocholithiasis

iohexol has been researched along with Choledocholithiasis in 4 studies

Iohexol: An effective non-ionic, water-soluble contrast agent which is used in myelography, arthrography, nephroangiography, arteriography, and other radiographic procedures. Its low systemic toxicity is the combined result of low chemotoxicity and low osmolality.
iohexol : A benzenedicarboxamide compound having N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)carbamoyl groups at the 1- and 3-positions, iodo substituents at the 2-, 4- and 6-positions and an N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)acetamido group at the 5-position.

Choledocholithiasis: Presence or formation of GALLSTONES in the COMMON BILE DUCT.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" We herein report the first case of prolonged post-ERCP jaundice due to toxicity of the contrast agent Iobitridol (®XENETIX, Guerbet, Roissy CdG Cedex, France) in a patient who underwent ERCP with sphincterectomy and common bile duct stone removal."3.83An unusual case of prolonged post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography jaundice. ( Dimitriadis, G; Gkolfakis, P; Papanikolaou, IS; Triantafyllou, K; Tziatzios, G, 2016)
"This case highlights a patient with Gilbert syndrome who underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with removal of bile duct stones, who then experienced an unexplained increase in bilirubin, with total bilirubin (TBIL) levels increasing from 159."1.48Gilbert syndrome combined with prolonged jaundice caused by contrast agent: Case report. ( Hou, FQ; Qian, JD; Shao, C; Wang, GQ; Wang, TL, 2018)
"Thirty patients with gallstones and suspected CBD lithiasis (abnormal serum liver tests and CBD >7 mm on ultrasound) had MRC followed by open cholecystectomy and IOC."1.35Routine magnetic resonance cholangiography compared to intra-operative cholangiography in patients with suspected common bile duct stones. ( Abdi, R; Eshghi, F, 2008)
