indomethacin and Aura

indomethacin has been researched along with Aura in 9 studies

Indomethacin: A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID) that inhibits CYCLOOXYGENASE, which is necessary for the formation of PROSTAGLANDINS and other AUTACOIDS. It also inhibits the motility of POLYMORPHONUCLEAR LEUKOCYTES.
indometacin : A member of the class of indole-3-acetic acids that is indole-3-acetic acid in which the indole ring is substituted at positions 1, 2 and 5 by p-chlorobenzoyl, methyl, and methoxy groups, respectively. A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, it is used in the treatment of musculoskeletal and joint disorders including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, bursitis and tendinitis.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"We report the case of a 17-year-old boy presenting with a history of recurrent episodes of isolated visual aura later followed infrequently by indomethacin-responsive headache attacks resembling paroxysmal hemicrania."3.75Paroxysmal hemicrania with visual aura in a 17-year-old boy. ( Seidel, S; Wöber, C, 2009)
"As parameters of epileptic seizure, seizure threshold (number of toss-ups to induce convulsion), duration of actual convulsion and duration of post actual convulsive period (period from the offset of convulsion to full recovery) were evaluated."1.33Cyclooxygenase system contributes to the maintenance of post convulsive period of epileptic phenomena in the genetically epileptic El mice.
