ibuprofen and Heart Failure

ibuprofen has been researched along with Heart Failure in 10 studies

Midol: combination of cinnamedrine, phenacetin, aspirin & caffeine

Heart Failure: A heterogeneous condition in which the heart is unable to pump out sufficient blood to meet the metabolic need of the body. Heart failure can be caused by structural defects, functional abnormalities (VENTRICULAR DYSFUNCTION), or a sudden overload beyond its capacity. Chronic heart failure is more common than acute heart failure which results from sudden insult to cardiac function, such as MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"An 11-year-old female patient, whose systemic type juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) had maintained in remission for the previous 4 years while taking only a small amounts of ibuprofen, showed an abrupt 2nd relapse with congestive heart failure five days after receiving a live-attenuated rubella vaccine, which was a primary immunization."3.75A relapse of systemic type juvenile idiopathic arthritis after a rubella vaccination in a patient during a long-term remission period. ( Akiyoshi, K; Izumi, T; Kawano, T; Korematsu, S; Maeda, T; Miyahara, H; Sato, K; Suenobu, S; Yamada, H, 2009)
"To estimate the net cardiovascular (CV) (coronary heart disease, stroke, congestive heart failure), and gastrointestinal (GI) (peptic ulcer complications) risk-benefit public health impact of the use of celecoxib compared to non-selective NSAIDs in the arthritis population."3.74Quantitative assessment of the gastrointestinal and cardiovascular risk-benefit of celecoxib compared to individual NSAIDs at the population level. ( Castellsague, J; Maguire, A; Perez-Gutthann, S; Varas-Lorenzo, C, 2007)
