hydroxyproline and Coronary Disease

hydroxyproline has been researched along with Coronary Disease in 16 studies

Hydroxyproline: A hydroxylated form of the imino acid proline. A deficiency in ASCORBIC ACID can result in impaired hydroxyproline formation.
hydroxyproline : A proline derivative that is proline substituted by at least one hydroxy group.

Coronary Disease: An imbalance between myocardial functional requirements and the capacity of the CORONARY VESSELS to supply sufficient blood flow. It is a form of MYOCARDIAL ISCHEMIA (insufficient blood supply to the heart muscle) caused by a decreased capacity of the coronary vessels.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" They recommend using the index of red blood cell fatty acid unsaturation as the characteristic, indicating liability to coronary disease; lysosomal beta-glucosidase activity for assessment of the severity of myocardial injury; simultaneous measurements of hydroxyproline and uric acid for estimation of the completeness of cicatrization and of the myocardial injury severity; and the fatty acid unsaturation index and hydroxyproline level for the assessment of the efficacy of rehabilitation measures."3.68[The use of biochemical indices in the prognosis and diagnosis of ischemic heart disease].
