hydrogen carbonate and Esthesioneuroblastoma, Olfactory

hydrogen carbonate has been researched along with Esthesioneuroblastoma, Olfactory in 1 studies

Bicarbonates: Inorganic salts that contain the -HCO3 radical. They are an important factor in determining the pH of the blood and the concentration of bicarbonate ions is regulated by the kidney. Levels in the blood are an index of the alkali reserve or buffering capacity.
hydrogencarbonate : The carbon oxoanion resulting from the removal of a proton from carbonic acid.

Esthesioneuroblastoma, Olfactory: A malignant olfactory neuroblastoma arising from the olfactory epithelium of the superior nasal cavity and cribriform plate. It is uncommon (3% of nasal tumors) and rarely is associated with the production of excess hormones (e.g., SIADH, Cushing Syndrome). It has a high propensity for multiple local recurrences and bony metastases. (From Holland et al., Cancer Medicine, 3rd ed, p1245; J Laryngol Otol 1998 Jul;112(7):628-33)

"A 3-year-old boy had localized esthesioneuroblastoma and received 2 courses of carboplatin (200 mg/m2/day during a 1-hour infusion for 3 consecutive days) associated with etoposide (150 mg/m2/day after carboplatin)."1.29Recurrent renal salt wasting in a child treated with carboplatin and etoposide.
