hydrochlorothiazide and Goldblatt Syndrome

hydrochlorothiazide has been researched along with Goldblatt Syndrome in 20 studies

Hydrochlorothiazide: A thiazide diuretic often considered the prototypical member of this class. It reduces the reabsorption of electrolytes from the renal tubules. This results in increased excretion of water and electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, chloride, and magnesium. It is used in the treatment of several disorders including edema, hypertension, diabetes insipidus, and hypoparathyroidism.
hydrochlorothiazide : A benzothiadiazine that is 3,4-dihydro-2H-1,2,4-benzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxide substituted by a chloro group at position 6 and a sulfonamide at 7. It is diuretic used for the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure.

"In spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), after 1 day of dosing with an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor (captopril or enalapril) plus a diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide), a synergistic antihypertensive effect was observed when a second dose of the combination or ACE inhibitor alone but not the diuretic alone was given the next day."1.27Acute antihypertensive synergism of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and diuretics.
