hydrochloric acid and Hypothyroidism

hydrochloric acid has been researched along with Hypothyroidism in 4 studies

Hydrochloric Acid: A strong corrosive acid that is commonly used as a laboratory reagent. It is formed by dissolving hydrogen chloride in water. GASTRIC ACID is the hydrochloric acid component of GASTRIC JUICE.
hydrogen chloride : A mononuclear parent hydride consisting of covalently bonded hydrogen and chlorine atoms.

Hypothyroidism: A syndrome that results from abnormally low secretion of THYROID HORMONES from the THYROID GLAND, leading to a decrease in BASAL METABOLIC RATE. In its most severe form, there is accumulation of MUCOPOLYSACCHARIDES in the SKIN and EDEMA, known as MYXEDEMA. It may be primary or secondary due to other pituitary disease, or hypothalamic dysfunction.

"Distoritions of tase (dysgeusia) and smell (dysosmia) were frequent complaints among the untreated patients; dysgeusia was observed by 7 patients (39 per cent) and dysosmia by 3 patients (17 per cent)."1.25Defects of taste and smell in patients with hypothyroidism.
