Safe and probably safe drugs in acute hepatic porphyria.
Acute porphyrias are caused by enzyme defects along the heme synthesis pathway. Patients usually present with abdominal pain, impaired intestinal motility, neurological and psychiatric symptoms, hypertension, tachycardia, hyponatriemia and reddish urine.
