guanethidine has been researched along with ANS (Autonomic Nervous System) Diseases in 5 studies
Guanethidine: An antihypertensive agent that acts by inhibiting selectively transmission in post-ganglionic adrenergic nerves. It is believed to act mainly by preventing the release of norepinephrine at nerve endings and causes depletion of norepinephrine in peripheral sympathetic nerve terminals as well as in tissues.
guanethidine : A member of the class of guanidines in which one of the hydrogens of the amino group has been replaced by a 2-azocan-1-ylethyl group.
guanethidine sulfate : A organic sulfate salt composed of two molecules of guanethidine and one of sulfuric acid.

"The effect of streptozotocin diabetes of 4-week duration on the adrenergic motor transmission and on the nonadrenergic, noncholinergic, inhibitory transmission in the rat anococcygeus was investigated by recording contractile and relaxant activity of isolated muscle preparations taken from diabetic and age-matched control animals." | 1.28 | Effect of streptozotocin diabetes on motor and inhibitory transmission in rat anococcygeus. ( Luheshi, GN; Zar, MA, 1992) |
"The guanethidine-treated animals gained less weight, had ptosis, and had a lower mean arterial blood pressure in the supine and upright tilted positions." | 1.27 | Guanethidine adrenergic neuropathy: an animal model of selective autonomic neuropathy. ( Low, PA; Ward, KK; Zochodne, DW, 1988) |
