glyburide has been researched along with Nerve Degeneration in 8 studies
Glyburide: An antidiabetic sulfonylurea derivative with actions like those of chlorpropamide
glyburide : An N-sulfonylurea that is acetohexamide in which the acetyl group is replaced by a 2-(5-chloro-2-methoxybenzamido)ethyl group.
Nerve Degeneration: Loss of functional activity and trophic degeneration of nerve axons and their terminal arborizations following the destruction of their cells of origin or interruption of their continuity with these cells. The pathology is characteristic of neurodegenerative diseases. Often the process of nerve degeneration is studied in research on neuroanatomical localization and correlation of the neurophysiology of neural pathways.

"The number of FJ-positive degenerating neurons in the CA1 area of the hippocampus, the cerebellum and the thalamic reticular nucleus of the ketogenic diet-fed rats with or without glibenclamide or 5-hydroxydecanoate pre-treatment before cardiac arrest-induced cerebral ischemia is zero." | 3.75 | Intracisternal administration of glibenclamide or 5-hydroxydecanoate does not reverse the neuroprotective effect of ketogenic diet against ischemic brain injury-induced neurodegeneration. ( Pham, L; Tai, KK; Truong, DD, 2009) |
" This study also investigates the effects of a mild epileptic insult on neuronal death in rat hippocampus after a subsequent, lethal epileptic stress using kainic acid (KA) as a model of epilepsy." | 3.70 | Mutually protective actions of kainic acid epileptic preconditioning and sublethal global ischemia on hippocampal neuronal death: involvement of adenosine A1 receptors and K(ATP) channels.
