flurbiprofen and Leukemia

flurbiprofen has been researched along with Leukemia in 2 studies

Flurbiprofen: An anti-inflammatory analgesic and antipyretic of the phenylalkynoic acid series. It has been shown to reduce bone resorption in periodontal disease by inhibiting CARBONIC ANHYDRASE.
flurbiprofen : A monocarboxylic acid that is a 2-fluoro-[1,1'-biphenyl-4-yl] moiety linked to C-2 of propionic acid. A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic, it is used as a pre-operative anti-miotic as well as orally for arthritis or dental pain.

Leukemia: A progressive, malignant disease of the blood-forming organs, characterized by distorted proliferation and development of leukocytes and their precursors in the blood and bone marrow. Leukemias were originally termed acute or chronic based on life expectancy but now are classified according to cellular maturity. Acute leukemias consist of predominately immature cells; chronic leukemias are composed of more mature cells. (From The Merck Manual, 2006)

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"In order to clarify the alterations of granuloblastic cells in chronic and acute myeloid leukemia, the colony growth behavior of cultured CFU-GM from the peripheral blood of normal and leukemic subjects was examined in basal conditions and after adding to the medium T3 or T4 and/or thioproline and/or flurbiprofen."3.67The influence of thyroid hormones on colony growth of peripheral CFU-GM from normal and leukemic subjects.
