A broad-spectrum anthelmintic, it is used, particularly in veterinary medicine, for the treatment of nematodal infections.

It is characterized by tumefaction, abscesses, and tumor-like granules representing microcolonies of pathogens, such as MADURELLA fungi and bacteria ACTINOMYCETES, with different grain colors.
