ether and Hernia, Inguinal

ether has been researched along with Hernia, Inguinal in 2 studies

Ether: A mobile, very volatile, highly flammable liquid used as an inhalation anesthetic and as a solvent for waxes, fats, oils, perfumes, alkaloids, and gums. It is mildly irritating to skin and mucous membranes.
ether : An organooxygen compound with formula ROR, where R is not hydrogen.
diethyl ether : An ether in which the oxygen atom is linked to two ethyl groups.

Hernia, Inguinal: An abdominal hernia with an external bulge in the GROIN region. It can be classified by the location of herniation. Indirect inguinal hernias occur through the internal inguinal ring. Direct inguinal hernias occur through defects in the ABDOMINAL WALL (transversalis fascia) in Hesselbach's triangle. The former type is commonly seen in children and young adults; the latter in adults.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" The following parameters were estimated the day before surgery and on the first postoperative day: liver cell metabolism (bile acids, unconjugated bilirubin), cell integrity (aminotransferases), synthesizing capacity (Prothrombin complex), cholestasis (conjugated bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase), and global liver function (chenodeoxycholic load test)."5.08Liver function and halothane-diethyl-ether azeotrope anaesthesia. Re-evaluation of an obsolete drug with special reference to early postoperative effects. ( Bengtsson, M; Kalman, SH; MÃ¥rtensson, J, 1995)
