estrone and Coronary Disease

estrone has been researched along with Coronary Disease in 13 studies

Hydroxyestrones: Estrone derivatives substituted with one or more hydroxyl groups in any position. They are important metabolites of estrone and other estrogens.

Coronary Disease: An imbalance between myocardial functional requirements and the capacity of the CORONARY VESSELS to supply sufficient blood flow. It is a form of MYOCARDIAL ISCHEMIA (insufficient blood supply to the heart muscle) caused by a decreased capacity of the coronary vessels.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"Blood levels of the clotting factor fibrinogen and tissue plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), a primary inhibitor of fibrinolysis, have been positively linked to risk of coronary heart disease."5.08Association of sex hormones and adiposity with plasma levels of fibrinogen and PAI-1 in postmenopausal women. ( Cauley, JA; Gutai, JP; Kuller, LH; Macy, EO; Meilahn, EN; Tracy, RP, 1996)

( Carmelli, D; Holloway, L; Javitz, H; Krasnow, RE; Marcus, R; Mikulec, KH; Reed, T; Swan, GE, 2004)
"As oestrone levels were correlated to excretion of catecholamines and cardiac enzyme levels in plasma and as circulating levels of oestrone are influenced by ACTH, the hyperoestronaemia may reflect stress-induced increased adrenocortical activity."1.28Variability in plasma oestrogen concentrations in men with a myocardial infarction.
