doxazosin and Arrhythmia

doxazosin has been researched along with Arrhythmia in 3 studies

Doxazosin: A prazosin-related compound that is a selective alpha-1-adrenergic blocker.
doxazosin : A member of the class of quinazolines that is quinazoline substituted by an amino group at position 4, methoxy groups at positions 6 and 7 and a piperazin-1-yl group at position 2 which in turn is substituted by a 2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodioxin-2-ylcarbonyl group at position 4. An antihypertensive agent, it is used in the treatment of high blood pressure.

"The authors determined whether increasing alpha 1-adrenergic blockade resulted in progressively less arrhythmic activity in the canine halothane-epinephrine arrhythmia model."7.67Alpha 1-adrenergic blockade raises epinephrine-arrhythmia threshold in halothane-anesthetized dogs in a dose-dependent fashion. ( Gaba, DM; Hayward, E; Maze, M, 1985)
"In Langendorff-perfused adult rat heart with constant pressure at 80 mmHg, we found doxazosin, an alpha(1) adrenoceptor blocker, at 10 muM prolonged PR interval and induced occasional arrhythmia followed by complete inhibition of the sinus rhythm, whereas bunazosin, another alpha(1)-blocker, at same concentration did not."3.74Comparison of the cardiac electrophysiological effects between doxazosin and bunazosin.
