Successful treatment of supraventricular tachycardia with metoprolol, a cardioselective beta blocker.
    Clinical pediatrics, 1983, Volume: 22, Issue:7

Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia is a common problem in infancy and childhood. Past treatment has included digitalis and nonselective beta blockers (propranolol). We describe a new mode of therapy with a cardioselective beta blocker (metoprolol) that may be of use in patients resistant to standard therapy.

Apparent quinidine-induced digoxin toxicity after withdrawal of pentobarbital: a case of sequential drug interactions.
Archives of internal medicine, 1979, Volume: 139, Issue:3

Accelerated quinidine metabolism was observed in a 94-year-old woman also receiving daily doses of digoxin and pentobarbital sodium. Discontinuation of pentobarbital produced a sharp increase in serum digoxin concentrations coupled with symptoms highly suggestive of digoxin toxicity. Associated with these findings was 3.8-fold increase in quinidine half-life. These data seemed consistent with an interaction between quinidine and digoxin that was precipitated by pentobarbital withdrawal.
