dextroamphetamine and Symptom Cluster

dextroamphetamine has been researched along with Symptom Cluster in 18 studies

Dextroamphetamine: The d-form of AMPHETAMINE. It is a central nervous system stimulant and a sympathomimetic. It has also been used in the treatment of narcolepsy and of attention deficit disorders and hyperactivity in children. Dextroamphetamine has multiple mechanisms of action including blocking uptake of adrenergics and dopamine, stimulating release of monamines, and inhibiting monoamine oxidase. It is also a drug of abuse and a psychotomimetic.
(S)-amphetamine : A 1-phenylpropan-2-amine that has S configuration.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" To do so, components of the serotonin syndrome, as induced by various doses of fenfluramine, were scored both before and after a 15-day subacute regimen with these agents."7.67A comparison of the fenfluramine-induced serotonergic syndrome in rats subacutely treated with either saline or D-amphetamine. ( Hunsinger, RN; Wilson, MC, 1984)
"Dextroamphetamine sulfate 30 mg extended release capsules was given to a woman to try to help her conceive since, with her pelvic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, and diarrhea, it was thought that an inflammatory condition related to permeation of unwanted chemicals into endometrial tissue related to the sympathetic neural hyperalgesia edema syndrome could be inhibiting her failure from conceiving despite three cycles of embryo transfer."3.85Sympathetic neural hyperalgesia edema syndrome as a cause of autoimmune hearing loss. ( Check, JH, 2017)
"This condition recently named as sympathetic neural hyperalgesia edema syndrome can present with symptoms of a pheochromocytoma and will respond to therapy with low dosages of dextroamphetamine sulfate."3.80The sympathetic neural hyperalgesia/edema syndrome, a common cause of female pelvic pain, manifesting as a pseudopheochromocytoma with marked clinical improvement with sympathomimetic amines. ( Check, JH; Cohen, R; Katsoff, B, 2014)

( Haapalinna, A; Kobilka, BK; Sallinen, J; Scheinin, M; Viitamaa, T, 1998)
"The effect of dextroamphetamine sulfate (Dexedrine) on plasma opioid peptides, hormones, and other metabolites was studied in eight female subjects with idiopathic (orthostatic) edema and five healthy females."3.69Opioid peptides, adrenocorticotrophic hormone, and idiopathic (orthostatic) edema.
