desipramine and Stammering

desipramine has been researched along with Stammering in 3 studies

Desipramine: A tricyclic dibenzazepine compound that potentiates neurotransmission. Desipramine selectively blocks reuptake of norepinephrine from the neural synapse, and also appears to impair serotonin transport. This compound also possesses minor anticholinergic activity, through its affinity to muscarinic receptors.
desipramine : A dibenzoazepine consisting of 10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[b,f]azepine substituted on nitrogen with a 3-(methylamino)propyl group.

"Clomipramine, a serotonin reuptake blocker that has been shown to be effective in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder and other unwanted repetitive, ritualized behaviors, was hypothesized to be superior to desipramine, a tricyclic antidepressant with selective noradrenergic effects, for developmental stuttering."9.08A double-blind comparison of clomipramine and desipramine in the treatment of developmental stuttering.
