desipramine and Dyspepsia

desipramine has been researched along with Dyspepsia in 1 studies

Desipramine: A tricyclic dibenzazepine compound that potentiates neurotransmission. Desipramine selectively blocks reuptake of norepinephrine from the neural synapse, and also appears to impair serotonin transport. This compound also possesses minor anticholinergic activity, through its affinity to muscarinic receptors.
desipramine : A dibenzoazepine consisting of 10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[b,f]azepine substituted on nitrogen with a 3-(methylamino)propyl group.

Dyspepsia: Impaired digestion, especially after eating.

"While this study does not rule out a beneficial effect of tricyclics or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors in functional dyspepsia, neither desipramine nor escitalopram significantly altered the nutrient volume ingested or symptoms induced by the nutrient drink test in healthy volunteers."5.11Effects of desipramine and escitalopram on postprandial symptoms induced by the nutrient drink test in healthy volunteers: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study.
