dehydroepiandrosterone and Abnormalities, Multiple

dehydroepiandrosterone has been researched along with Abnormalities, Multiple in 3 studies

Dehydroepiandrosterone: A major C19 steroid produced by the ADRENAL CORTEX. It is also produced in small quantities in the TESTIS and the OVARY. Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) can be converted to TESTOSTERONE; ANDROSTENEDIONE; ESTRADIOL; and ESTRONE. Most of DHEA is sulfated (DEHYDROEPIANDROSTERONE SULFATE) before secretion.
dehydroepiandrosterone : An androstanoid that is androst-5-ene substituted by a beta-hydroxy group at position 3 and an oxo group at position 17. It is a naturally occurring steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands.

Abnormalities, Multiple: Congenital abnormalities that affect more than one organ or body structure.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a popular dietary supplement and it possesses anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory functions; however, the effect and underlying mechanism about DHEA in protecting against the occurrence and development of FLHS remain elucidated."1.72Dehydroepiandrosterone activates the GPER-mediated AMPK signaling pathway to alleviate the oxidative stress and inflammatory response in laying hens fed with high-energy and low-protein diets.
