dapi and Supranuclear Palsy, Progressive

dapi has been researched along with Supranuclear Palsy, Progressive in 1 studies

DAPI: RN given refers to parent cpd.

Supranuclear Palsy, Progressive: A degenerative disease of the central nervous system characterized by balance difficulties; OCULAR MOTILITY DISORDERS (supranuclear ophthalmoplegia); DYSARTHRIA; swallowing difficulties; and axial DYSTONIA. Onset is usually in the fifth decade and disease progression occurs over several years. Pathologic findings include neurofibrillary degeneration and neuronal loss in the dorsal MESENCEPHALON; SUBTHALAMIC NUCLEUS; RED NUCLEUS; pallidum; dentate nucleus; and vestibular nuclei. Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"DAPI was positive in 3R/4R (3-repeat/4-repeat) tau deposits in Alzheimer's disease, myotonic dystrophy, and neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation, and in 4R tau deposits in corticobasal degeneration, but negative in 4R tau deposits in frontotemporal dementia with parkinsonism-17 and progressive supranuclear palsy."1.484',6-Diamidino-2-Phenylindole Distinctly Labels Tau Deposits.
