creatine and Cardiac Output, Low

creatine has been researched along with Cardiac Output, Low in 3 studies

Cardiac Output, Low: A state of subnormal or depressed cardiac output at rest or during stress. It is a characteristic of CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES, including congenital, valvular, rheumatic, hypertensive, coronary, and cardiomyopathic. The serious form of low cardiac output is characterized by marked reduction in STROKE VOLUME, and systemic vasoconstriction resulting in cold, pale, and sometimes cyanotic extremities.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"To address the hypothesis that impaired ATP synthesis rates caused by changes in the creatine kinase system is an important mechanism underlying cardiac failure, we measured total creatine kinase activity, isoenzyme composition and creatine content in two animal models of hypertrophy with cardiac dysfunction, the spontaneously hypertensive rat in the transition to failure and the creatine-depleted hyperthyroid rat heart challenged by hypoxia."3.68Energetic correlates of cardiac failure: changes in the creatine kinase system in the failing myocardium. ( Atkinson, DE; Clarke, K; Fetters, JK; Ingwall, JS, 1990)
"The incidences of arrhythmia and intensive care unit(ICU) syndrome were also significantly higher in the elderly group than in the control group, however, there was no death due to these complications."1.31Coronary artery bypass grafting in octogenarians.
