clofibrate and Intermittent Claudication

clofibrate has been researched along with Intermittent Claudication in 16 studies

angiokapsul: contains clofibrate & insoitolnicotinate

Intermittent Claudication: A symptom complex characterized by pain and weakness in SKELETAL MUSCLE group associated with exercise, such as leg pain and weakness brought on by walking. Such muscle limpness disappears after a brief rest and is often relates to arterial STENOSIS; muscle ISCHEMIA; and accumulation of LACTATE.

"Ankle systolic pressure measurements in 67 patients with intermittent claudication treated with Clofibrate for an average period of 11 months and 32 untreated patients suggest that 1) patients with a raised initial plasma fibrinogen concentration have more severe disease than those with low initial plasma fibrinogen concentration and 2) the response to treatment with Clofibrate is significantly better in those with a raised plasma fibrinogen concentration."7.65Results of ankle ststolic pressure measurements in patients with intermittent claudication being treated with clofibrate. ( Dormandy, JA; Postlethwaite, JC, 1975)
"Sixty-two patients with intermittent claudication associated with peripheral arterial diseases were treated with clofibrate, 2 g daily, for a minimum of six months."7.65Effect of clofibrate on blood viscosity in intermittent claudication. ( Dormandy, JA; Dormandy, TL; Gutteridge, JM; Hoare, E, 1974)
