Successful treatment of Zoon's vulvitis with high potency topical steroid.
Zoon's vulvitis is a rare, chronic condition of the vulva that presents with burning, pruritus, and dysuria with characteristic lesions and histopathology. Several treatment options have been reported with limited success. A 63-year-old woman with Zoon's vulvitis diagnosed on histopathology was treated with clobetasol propionate 0.05%. Complete resolution of her symptoms and lesions occurred in less than 1 week. No recurrence of her symptoms has occurred after 9 months. Zoon's vulvitis may be successfully and expeditiously treated with high potency topical steroids. Topics: Anti-Inflammatory Agents; Clobetasol; Female; Humans; Middle Aged; Vulva; Vulvitis | 2006 |
Plasma cell vulvitis and response to topical steroids: a case report.
Plasma cell vulvitis is a condition which, due to its rarity, can be difficult to diagnose and challenging to treat. This report describes a case of plasma cell vulvitis, its response to topical steroids and summarizes what is known about the condition. Topics: Administration, Topical; Anti-Inflammatory Agents; Clobetasol; Female; Glucocorticoids; Humans; Middle Aged; Plasma Cells; Treatment Outcome; Vulvitis | 2003 |
Vulvitis chronica plasmacellularis (Zoon's vulvitis).
Vulvitis chronica plasmacellularis (Zoon's vulvitis) is rare. We describe a case in whom all the typical features, as delineated by Zoon, are demonstrated. Topics: Clobetasol; Female; Humans; Middle Aged; Vulva; Vulvitis | 1993 |
