cimetidine has been researched along with Leucocythaemia in 7 studies
Cimetidine: A histamine congener, it competitively inhibits HISTAMINE binding to HISTAMINE H2 RECEPTORS. Cimetidine has a range of pharmacological actions. It inhibits GASTRIC ACID secretion, as well as PEPSIN and GASTRIN output.
cimetidine : A member of the class of guanidines that consists of guanidine carrying a methyl substituent at position 1, a cyano group at position 2 and a 2-{[(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)methyl]sulfanyl}ethyl group at position 3. It is a H2-receptor antagonist that inhibits the production of acid in stomach.

"A presumed cimetidine-induced granulocytopenia in a 6-year-old male with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) prompted an investigation of the effects of cimetidine on in vitro bone marrow granulocyte colony growth (CFU-C) in normal individuals and ALL patients either on maintenance chemotherapy or off all therapy for at least 1 year." | 3.67 | Cimetidine suppression of CFU-C in males. " So far as can be assessed, however, none of these drug-disease associations represented adverse effects of cimetidine treatment; on the contrary, they resulted from cimetidine being used, knowingly or unknowingly, for treating the symptoms of various diseases or for alleviating adverse effects of other agents such as corticosteroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and radiotherapy." | 1.27 | Postmarketing surveillance of the safety of cimetidine: 12 month mortality report. ( Colin-Jones, DG; Langman, MJ; Lawson, DH; Vessey, MP, 1983) |
