cilostazol and Heart Failure

cilostazol has been researched along with Heart Failure in 9 studies

Heart Failure: A heterogeneous condition in which the heart is unable to pump out sufficient blood to meet the metabolic need of the body. Heart failure can be caused by structural defects, functional abnormalities (VENTRICULAR DYSFUNCTION), or a sudden overload beyond its capacity. Chronic heart failure is more common than acute heart failure which results from sudden insult to cardiac function, such as MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" In the last few years, cilostazol, a phosphodiesterase (PDE) 3 inhibitor, has been tested in the setting of acute coronary syndromes: it exerts not only anti-platelet actions, but also pleiotropic effects, including inhibition on neointimal hyperplasia, therefore preventing both stent restenosis and thrombosis."4.88Cilostazol and primary-PCI: mirage or good alternative? ( Crea, F; D'Amario, D; Porto, I, 2012)
"Cilostazol is a selective phosphodiesterase 3 (PDE3) inhibitor approved by the Food and Drug Administration for treatment of intermittent claudication."2.47Effects of cilostazol in the heart. ( Chattipakorn, N; Chattipakorn, S; Kanlop, N, 2011)
"Cilostazol was not associated with an increase in any arrhythmic complication."1.39Practice-based evidence: profiling the safety of cilostazol by text-mining of clinical notes. ( Bauer-Mehren, A; Iyer, SV; Leeper, NJ; Lependu, P; Olson, C; Shah, NH, 2013)
