chloramphenicol and Glioma

chloramphenicol has been researched along with Glioma in 3 studies

Amphenicol: Chloramphenicol and its derivatives.

Glioma: Benign and malignant central nervous system neoplasms derived from glial cells (i.e., astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, and ependymocytes). Astrocytes may give rise to astrocytomas (ASTROCYTOMA) or glioblastoma multiforme (see GLIOBLASTOMA). Oligodendrocytes give rise to oligodendrogliomas (OLIGODENDROGLIOMA) and ependymocytes may undergo transformation to become EPENDYMOMA; CHOROID PLEXUS NEOPLASMS; or colloid cysts of the third ventricle. Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" Enucleated cells of the rat embryonic cell line 3Y1CAP, which are nontumorigenic and resistant to chloramphenicol, were fused with whole cells of the rat glioma C6BU-1 line, which are tumorigenic and resistant to 5-bromodeoxyuridine, and the cybrid colonies growing in selective medium with 5-bromodeoxyuridine (30 micrograms/ml) and chloramphenicol (50 micrograms/ml) were isolated clonally."3.67Effect of mitochondrial DNA transmitted cytoplasmically from nontumorigenic to tumorigenic rat cells on the phenotypic expression of tumorigenicity. ( Hayashi, J; Tagashira, Y; Watanabe, T; Yoshida, MC, 1984)
"The effects of morphine on the basal cAMP level in the neuroblastoma X glioma NG108-15 hybrid cell line have been studied."3.67Rebound increase of basal cAMP level in NG108-15 cells during chronic morphine treatment: effects of naloxone and chloramphenicol.
