A possibility of such a trauma in young individuals with elastic thoracic covers has been noted. The necessity of chest X-rays within short period following trauma to detect a source of contusion is stressed because of the dynamic changes in the contused lung tissue. Proper treatment produces a remission of pathologic lesions in lung parenchyma within 4-10 days.
