candesartan cilexetil and Cardiomyopathy, Dilated

candesartan cilexetil has been researched along with Cardiomyopathy, Dilated in 5 studies

candesartan cilexetil: a prodrug which is metabolized to an active form candesartan to exert its biological effects

Cardiomyopathy, Dilated: A form of CARDIAC MUSCLE disease that is characterized by ventricular dilation, VENTRICULAR DYSFUNCTION, and HEART FAILURE. Risk factors include SMOKING; ALCOHOL DRINKING; HYPERTENSION; INFECTION; PREGNANCY; and mutations in the LMNA gene encoding LAMIN TYPE A, a NUCLEAR LAMINA protein.

"We examined effects of an angiotensin-II receptor blockers, candesartan cilexetil, in rats with dilated cardiomyopathy after autoimmune myocarditis."3.73Effects of angiotensin-II receptor blocker candesartan cilexetil in rats with dilated cardiomyopathy. ( Aizawa, Y; Inoue, M; Kashimura, T; Kodama, M; Ma, M; Saito, Y; Shirai, K; Suresh, PS; Tachikawa, H; Wahed, MI; Watanabe, K, 2005)
"The aims were (1) to investigate the effect of hypertention on left ventricular dilatation and haemodynamic alterations following acute myocardial infarction in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and normotensive rats (WKY); (2) to compare haemodynamic indices between the two groups; (3) to assess whether the angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist (AIIA), TCV-116, prevented left ventricular dilatation after myocardial infarction; and (4) to compare the effect of AIIA with that of the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, delapril."3.69An angiotensin II receptor antagonist attenuates left ventricular dilatation after myocardial infarction in the hypertensive rat. ( Nishikimi, T; Takeda, T; Takeuchi, K; Yamagishi, H, 1995)
"When candesartan cilexetil was administered to Bio TO2 hamsters, cardiac chymase-like activity increased significantly, whereas cardiac fibrosis decreased significantly."1.33Effect of Angiotensin II Type 1 receptor blocker on cardiac angiotensin-converting enzyme and chymase-like activities, and cardiac fibrosis in cardiomyopathic hamsters.
