candesartan and Aging

candesartan has been researched along with Aging in 10 studies

candesartan: a nonpeptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist
candesartan : A benzimidazolecarboxylic acid that is 1H-benzimidazole-7-carboxylic acid substituted by an ethoxy group at position 2 and a ({2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl}methyl) group at position 1. It is a angiotensin receptor antagonist used for the treatment of hypertension.

Aging: The gradual irreversible changes in structure and function of an organism that occur as a result of the passage of time.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
" We hypothesized that aging results in enhanced early reperfusion injury and left ventricular remodeling after reperfused ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction and that early therapy initiated at the time of reperfusion with an angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker such as candesartan attenuates age-related increases in reperfusion injury and remodeling."3.76Aging-related early changes in markers of ventricular and matrix remodeling after reperfused ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction in the canine model: effect of early therapy with an angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker.
