bupivacaine and Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Newborn

bupivacaine has been researched along with Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Newborn in 3 studies

Bupivacaine: A widely used local anesthetic agent.
1-butyl-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)piperidine-2-carboxamide : A piperidinecarboxamide obtained by formal condensation of the carboxy group of N-butylpipecolic acid with the amino group of 2,6-dimethylaniline.
bupivacaine : A racemate composed of equimolar amounts of dextrobupivacaine and levobupivacaine. Used (in the form of its hydrochloride hydrate) as a local anaesthetic.

Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Newborn: A condition of the newborn marked by DYSPNEA with CYANOSIS, heralded by such prodromal signs as dilatation of the alae nasi, expiratory grunt, and retraction of the suprasternal notch or costal margins, mostly frequently occurring in premature infants, children of diabetic mothers, and infants delivered by cesarean section, and sometimes with no apparent predisposing cause.

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"To prospectively evaluate if a high rate of epidural analgesia (EDA) with bupivacaine-sufentanil is consistent with a low rate of caesarean section, instrumental deliveries and dystocia and to evaluate maternal and fetal adverse effects of sufentanil."3.71A high rate of epidural analgesia with bupivacaine-sufentanil is consistent with a low rate of caesarean section and instrumental deliveries.
