Fenoterol: A synthetic adrenergic beta-2 agonist that is used as a bronchodilator and tocolytic.
fenoterol : A member of the class resorcinols that is 5-(1-hydroxyethyl)benzene-1,3-diol in which one of the methyl hydrogens is replaced by a 1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propan-2-amino group. A beta2-adrenergic agonist, it is used (as the hydrobromide salt) as a bronchodilator in the management of reversible airway obstruction.
Asthma: A form of bronchial disorder with three distinct components: airway hyper-responsiveness (RESPIRATORY HYPERSENSITIVITY), airway INFLAMMATION, and intermittent AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION. Number of Patients With Tachycardia After Treatment
Defined as anytime after initiation of therapy when the patient's heart rate exceeded age adjusted normal sinus rhythm heart rates for their age. Not uncommonly, patient's experience tachycardia as an unintended side effect of receiving albuterol. Tachycardia can result in a patient requiring further observation in the Emergency department and therefore increasing Emergency Department length of stay.
