aspirin and Experimental Hepatoma

aspirin has been researched along with Experimental Hepatoma in 14 studies

Aspirin: The prototypical analgesic used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. It has anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties and acts as an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase which results in the inhibition of the biosynthesis of prostaglandins. Aspirin also inhibits platelet aggregation and is used in the prevention of arterial and venous thrombosis. (From Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 30th ed, p5)
acetylsalicylate : A benzoate that is the conjugate base of acetylsalicylic acid, arising from deprotonation of the carboxy group.
acetylsalicylic acid : A member of the class of benzoic acids that is salicylic acid in which the hydrogen that is attached to the phenolic hydroxy group has been replaced by an acetoxy group. A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with cyclooxygenase inhibitor activity.

"The growth rate (studied by mean tumor dry weight) and vascularization (studied by microangiography) of two transplantable rat tumors, a 20-methylcholanthrene-induced fibrosarcoma and a hepatoma, were significantly reduced by three prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors, indomethacin, diclofenac-sodium and aspirin, irrespective of whether the drugs were administered early or late during tumor growth."3.66Effects of prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors on tumor growth and vascularization. Experimental studies in the rat. ( Peterson, HI, 1983)
"Accelerated progression of residual hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after incomplete radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has been reported more frequently."1.42Inflammation and cancer: inhibiting the progression of residual hepatic VX2 carcinoma by anti-inflammatory drug after incomplete radiofrequency ablation. ( Ding, J; Duan, B; Jiang, T; Lu, S; Zhang, X, 2015)
"Although no lung metastasis was observed in the rats killed at the end of the period of carcinogen exposure, lung metastasis was found in 100% of animals in all the groups at the end of the experiment."1.32Suppression of metastasis by nuclear factor kappaB inhibitors in an in vivo lung metastasis model of chemically induced hepatocellular carcinoma.
