amrinone and Aortic Aneurysm, Abdominal

amrinone has been researched along with Aortic Aneurysm, Abdominal in 1 studies

Amrinone: A positive inotropic cardiotonic (CARDIOTONIC AGENTS) with vasodilator properties, phosphodiesterase 3 inhibitory activity, and the ability to stimulate calcium ion influx into the cardiac cell.
amrinone : A 3,4'-bipyridine substituted at positions 5 and 6 by an amino group and a keto function respectively. A pyridine phosphodiesterase 3 inhibitor, it is a drug that may improve the prognosis in patients with congestive heart failure.

Aortic Aneurysm, Abdominal: An abnormal balloon- or sac-like dilatation in the wall of the ABDOMINAL AORTA which gives rise to the visceral, the parietal, and the terminal (iliac) branches below the aortic hiatus at the diaphragm.

Research Excerpts

ExcerptRelevanceReference
"This study demonstrates that amrinone provides equivalent hemodynamic control to SNP during abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery because it allows moderate reductions in blood pressure without affecting other hemodynamic measurements."5.08A comparison of amrinone with sodium nitroprusside for control of hemodynamics during infrarenal abdominal aortic surgery.
