amrinone and Anesthesia

amrinone has been researched along with Anesthesia in 8 studies

Amrinone: A positive inotropic cardiotonic (CARDIOTONIC AGENTS) with vasodilator properties, phosphodiesterase 3 inhibitory activity, and the ability to stimulate calcium ion influx into the cardiac cell.
amrinone : A 3,4'-bipyridine substituted at positions 5 and 6 by an amino group and a keto function respectively. A pyridine phosphodiesterase 3 inhibitor, it is a drug that may improve the prognosis in patients with congestive heart failure.

Anesthesia: A state characterized by loss of feeling or sensation. This depression of nerve function is usually the result of pharmacologic action and is induced to allow performance of surgery or other painful procedures.

( Hettrick, DA; Pagel, PS; Warltier, DC, 1993)
"Amrinone pretreatment of the study group (n = 7) altered the hemodynamic response, thus maximal systemic vasodilation and stroke volume increase at a lower diltiazem dose, a 15 to 35% increase in myocardial work and power, and more profound coronary vasodilation."1.28Positive hemodynamic interaction between amrinone and diltiazem in anesthetized dogs.
