alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid and Optic Atrophy, Hereditary, Leber

alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid has been researched along with Optic Atrophy, Hereditary, Leber in 1 studies

alpha-Amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic Acid: An IBOTENIC ACID homolog and glutamate agonist. The compound is the defining agonist for the AMPA subtype of glutamate receptors (RECEPTORS, AMPA). It has been used as a radionuclide imaging agent but is more commonly used as an experimental tool in cell biological studies.

Optic Atrophy, Hereditary, Leber: A maternally linked genetic disorder that presents in mid-life as acute or subacute central vision loss leading to central scotoma and blindness. The disease has been associated with missense mutations in the mtDNA, in genes for Complex I, III, and IV polypeptides, that can act autonomously or in association with each other to cause the disease.
