8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)tetralin and Sleep Apnea, Obstructive

8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)tetralin has been researched along with Sleep Apnea, Obstructive in 1 studies

8-Hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)tetralin: A serotonin 1A-receptor agonist that is used experimentally to test the effects of serotonin.
8-OH-DPAT : A tetralin substituted at positions 1 and 7 by hydroxy and dipropylamino groups respectively

Sleep Apnea, Obstructive: A disorder characterized by recurrent apneas during sleep despite persistent respiratory efforts. It is due to upper airway obstruction. The respiratory pauses may induce HYPERCAPNIA or HYPOXIA. Cardiac arrhythmias and elevation of systemic and pulmonary arterial pressures may occur. Frequent partial arousals occur throughout sleep, resulting in relative SLEEP DEPRIVATION and daytime tiredness. Associated conditions include OBESITY; ACROMEGALY; MYXEDEMA; micrognathia; MYOTONIC DYSTROPHY; adenotonsilar dystrophy; and NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASES. "Clinical trials in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome patients reported moderate effects of serotoninergic drugs on oropharyngeal apneas, although numerous specific 5-HT ligands highly modulate the genioglossus muscle (GG) activity in experiments performed in anesthetized animals."1.34Time- and dose-related effects of three 5-HT receptor ligands on the genioglossus activity in anesthetized and conscious rats.
