1-methyl-3-isobutylxanthine and Carcinoma, Hepatocellular

1-methyl-3-isobutylxanthine has been researched along with Carcinoma, Hepatocellular in 8 studies

1-Methyl-3-isobutylxanthine: A potent cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase inhibitor; due to this action, the compound increases cyclic AMP and cyclic GMP in tissue and thereby activates CYCLIC NUCLEOTIDE-REGULATED PROTEIN KINASES
3-isobutyl-1-methylxanthine : An oxopurine that is xanthine which is substituted at positions 1 and 3 by methyl and isobutyl groups, respectively.

Carcinoma, Hepatocellular: A primary malignant neoplasm of epithelial liver cells. It ranges from a well-differentiated tumor with EPITHELIAL CELLS indistinguishable from normal HEPATOCYTES to a poorly differentiated neoplasm. The cells may be uniform or markedly pleomorphic, or form GIANT CELLS. Several classification schemes have been suggested.

"We developed a human hepatoma cell model that faithfully reproduces the responsiveness of the CYP2E1 gene to IL-4 at least in part through transcriptional activation, upon treatment with 150 U/ml of IL-4."1.31The induction of the human hepatic CYP2E1 gene by interleukin 4 is transcriptional and regulated by protein kinase C. ( Corcos, L; Galisteo, M; Guillouzo, A; Joannard, F; Lagadic-Gossmann, D; Lerche, C; Rissel, M, 2000)
"Herein, the Epo-synthesizing human hepatoma cell line HepG2 was used to investigate whether protein kinase C (PKC) is involved in the inhibitory action of the cytokines."1.29Distinct signaling pathways mediate phorbol-ester-induced and cytokine-induced inhibition of erythropoietin gene expression.
