[Studies on the chemical constituents of Populus tomentosa carr]. Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 1993, Volume: 28, Issue:6 Populus tomentosa Carr. a Chinese folk medicine, has been used for treatment of arthritic disease. A new flavonoid(1), with molecular formula C30H26O12 was isolated from this plant along with four known compounds. They were identified as apigenin-7-O-(6"-O-p-coumaroyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (I), salicin (II), tremulodin (III), tremulacin (IV) and daucosterol (V) by the use of 1HNMR, 13CNMR and 1H-13C COSY spectroscopy.
