Thonningiiflavanonol A and thonningiiflavanonol B, two novel flavonoids, and other constituents of Ficus thonningii Blume (Moraceae).
A phytochemical study of Ficus thonningii has led to the isolation of two previously unreported compounds, thonningiiflavanonol A and thonningiiflavanonol B together with 16 known compounds: shuterin, naringenin, syringic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, genistein, 5,7,3',4',5'-pentahydroxyflavanone, luteolin, methylparaben, aromadendrin, garbanzol, dihydroquercetin, 5,7,3'-trihydroxyflavanone, β-sitosterol, sitosterolglucoside, lupeol acetate, and taraxerol. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data. The new compounds and extracts displayed potent antioxidant activity. [Chemical Constituents from Young Fruits of Citrus maxima cv. Shatian].
To investigate the chemical constituents from the young fruits of Citrus maxima cv. Shatian.. The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by silica gel column chromatography and recrystallization, and their structures were identified on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral analysis.. Seven compounds were isolated and identified as naringenin (I), marmin (II), naringin (III), β-sitosterol (IV) 5,7-dihydroxylcoumarin (V) 1, 3,5-trihydroxyhenzene (VI) and xanthotoxol (VII).. Nine compounds were obtained and identified as: 4, 4'-dihydroxy-3, 5-dimethoxybi-benzyl (1), gigantol (2), naringenin (3) , p-hydroxybenzoic acid (4), n-tetracosyl trans-p-cou-marate (5), n-octacosy trans-p-coumarate (6), n-hexacosyl trans-ferulate (7), stigmasterol (8), daucosterol (9).. All these compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time, compounds 1 and 4 were isolated firstly from the genus. They were identified as beta-sitosterol (I) dau-costerol (II),3,3',5,5'-tetrahydroxy-4'-methoxystilbene (III), naringenin (IV), alpha-L-butylsorbopyranoside (V) and macrozamin (VI).
