Description Research Excerpts Clinical Trials Roles Classes Pathways Study Profile Bioassays Related Drugs Related Conditions Protein Interactions Research Growth Market Indicators

Thymidine 3',5'-diphosphate (dTDP) is a nucleoside diphosphate that plays a crucial role in DNA synthesis. It is a precursor to thymidine triphosphate (dTTP), the building block for DNA. dTDP is synthesized from deoxythymidine monophosphate (dTMP) by the enzyme thymidylate kinase. The synthesis of dTDP is an important target for anti-cancer drugs, as blocking its production can inhibit DNA replication and cell growth. dTDP is also involved in the synthesis of other important biological molecules, such as the sugar deoxyribose and the coenzyme tetrahydrofolate. The study of dTDP is important for understanding the mechanisms of DNA replication and repair, and for developing new drugs to treat cancer and other diseases.'
