Description

n-Succinimidyl-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propionate, also known as NHS-HPP, is a heterobifunctional crosslinking reagent commonly used in biochemistry and biotechnology. It has a succinimidyl ester group that reacts with primary amines, such as those found on lysine residues in proteins, forming stable amide bonds. The other end of the molecule contains a phenol group that can be modified with various functional groups, including fluorescent dyes, biotin, or other reactive groups. NHS-HPP is used to attach proteins, peptides, or other molecules to surfaces, create protein conjugates, or study protein-protein interactions. Its ability to crosslink molecules and modify them with functional groups makes it a versatile tool for a wide range of applications, including diagnostics, drug discovery, and materials science.'
